original inventory, assigned to the group before embarkation for England.
B-17E/F One E-model and several
F-model B-17s appear in the 447th's inventory. The F-models were modified
Pathfinder (H2-X) aircraft from the 482nd Bomb Group, temporarily assigned to
the 447th and flown by 447th officers, or supplemental aircraft temporarily on
loan from other groups to make up for shortages in the 447th's
inventory.
